I am so pleased to invite my fellow Black Elected Municipal Officials to attend the 2025 NC BEMO Summer Conference. As we have seen in years past, this conference brings together dedicated public servants to celebrate leadership, collaboration and progress. 

Whether you are a current member of NC BEMO or considering future membership, I hope you will join us in Greensboro in July. At this conference, we will embark on meaningful discussions, share innovative ideas, build fellowship and strengthen the bonds that help our communities thrive.

Registration for Elected Officials

July 26-27, 2025 | O. Henry Hotel, Greensboro NC

Important Conference Information:

Registration will open in May 2025. All NC BEMO members will receive an email when registration goes live. 

  • The conference sessions and hotel room sleeping block will all be located at the O. Henry Hotel.
  • Spouses/guests are welcome to attend the evening banquet, but they must be registered in advance.
  • Registration must be received by July 3, 2025.
  • Upon registration, a confirmation email will be sent with the booking link to reserve a hotel room at the O. Henry Hotel. Rooms will be available at the group rate on Friday, July 25th and Saturday, July 26th.

Not yet a member? NC BEMO annual dues are $75 and run from July 1 - June 30 each year. 

All requests for refunds must be made in writing, via email, by July 3, 2025. Cancellations after that date are not eligible for a refund.

The reservation deadline to book a hotel room within the conference room block is July 3, 2025. 

The block rate is $224 plus applicable taxes. 

Rooms are available on Friday, July 25 and Saturday, July 26.

Room block information will be emailed to you after you have submitted your sponsorship registration and payment.

Spouses or guests of attendees are welcome to join the group for the optional tour to the International Civil Rights Museum and the Saturday evening banquet.

All guests must be registered in advance, by July 3, 2025. 

Guest registration is $125 for the Saturday evening dinner. The optional tour is $25 per guest.

Cancellation requests for guests must be received by July 3. After that date, registration refunds will not be available.

The conference agenda will be available in late Spring 2025.

Non-Member Registration - $375

Late Registration and Same-Day Registration - $450

A light breakfast, lunch and banquet dinner are included on Saturday and Sunday includes breakfast.

Join Us as We Tour the International Civil Rights Museum

Saturday, July 26 @ 2:30pm

This optional tour begins as we board a bus at the O. Henry Hotel and travel a few miles to the International Civil Rights Museum, housed in the famous Woolworth's building in downtown Greensboro. This museum commemorates the February 1, 1960 sit-ins at a white-only lunch counter by four Black college students from North Carolina A&T State University. 

We will leave the hotel around 2:30 p.m., participate in a staff-guided tour of the museum, and return to the hotel around 5 p.m.

Guests are welcome to join this tour, but they must be registered in advance. Seating on the bus is on a first come, first served basis.

An attendee list, including name and local government units, will be emailed to you prior to the conference. 

It is $250 per person outside of the allotted complimentary registrations. Swapping out representatives per day under one registration is not permitted.

Exhibit tables are 6-feet long. Table space is available on a first come, first served basis.  

Exhibit materials may be mailed to the hotel. Materials must arrive on July 23 or later.
